- District Legal Services Authority Secretary urges people to settle disputes through mutual agreement for quick, accessible, and affordable justice
Lucknow: Ahead of the National Lok Adalat scheduled for September 12, 2026, the District Legal Services Authority, Lucknow, has launched a public awareness campaign on the directions of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority. Kunwar Mitresh Singh Kushwaha, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Lucknow, said the campaign’s main goal is to ensure that as many litigants as possible benefit from the accessible justice offered through the Lok Adalat.
Under the guidance of District Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Lucknow, Malkhan Singh, and under the supervision of Prakash Tiwari, the nodal officer for the National Lok Adalat, paralegal volunteers are setting up awareness camps across the district — at the civil court complex, the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, family court, commercial court, the Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Authority, all tehsils, and other public locations. These camps are being used to spread information about the Lok Adalat so that both the general public and litigants are made aware of the opportunity.
Cases up for resolution at the National Lok Adalat through mutual settlement include civil, matrimonial, motor accident claims, bank loan recovery, labour, electricity, revenue, family, cheque bounce, pre-litigation, arbitration, and other compoundable disputes. Notably, decisions passed by a Lok Adalat are final and binding, offering a permanent resolution to cases.

Kushwaha appealed to residents of the district to bring their disputes to the National Lok Adalat on September 12 and resolve them there, calling it a route to quick, accessible, and affordable justice that would also help promote harmony and goodwill within society.
